Wise Girl Wins Beta Tv Contest and Plays at CMJ

Hi Abby! Congratulations on your big win! Can you tell us a bit about your experience in the Beta TV contest?

Well I had signed up for Indaba not fully trusting the site. I saw the opportunity and sent our stuff over not thinking anything of it, more of a “why not, what have I got to lose?” type of thing.  I had no expectations as the industry is ridiculously over saturated and a lot of music doesn’t even get listened because there is so much to sort through. When I was contacted about being one of the finalists at first I had no idea what they were talking about because I had completely forgotten about sending in our song and then I was like “wow maybe this is legit?”.  It’s hard to really believe anything or get excited about anything because opportunities dissolve just as quick as they arise in the music business. Winner’s Interview with Solid State

Stefani, or as some of you might know as Solid State, has a confession to make: she has the Indabadiction.

Her introduction into the world of Indaba has greatly influenced her life and current career path. She shifted her course from djing to focus on remixing and creating original music.  Though we’re certain that some great opportunities are coming her way for her solo work, she’s content to linger in the remix realm for just a little while longer.
